1. Organization
São Silvestre de Lisboa is produced by the Olympic Club of Oeiras in partnership with Lisbon’s city-hall and the technical support of HMS Sports Consulting.
2. Date/Time/Distance/Place
On the 27th December:
• 17h00, the 1st edition of São Silvestre Kids, starting and ending at Praça D. Pedro IV (Praça do Rossio);
• 18h00, the 2nd edition of São Silvestre de Lisboa, 10 KM, starting and ending at Praça D. Pedro IV (Praça do Rossio).
3. Participation
Participating in São Silvestre de Lisboa is open to everyone interested, without distinguishing nationality or sex, as long as correctly registered, according to the event rules and within deadline. The participants must have at least 18 years old. The registers will close as soon as 5.000 registrations are achieved.
For everyone’s safety, bicycles, skates, rollerblades, wheelchairs, baby cars and animals are not allowed.
São Silvestre kids
Participating in São Silvestre Kids is open to everyone interested, without distinguishing nationality or sex, as long as correctly registered, according to the event rules and within deadline. The participants must have at least 5 years old and maximum 11. The registers will close as soon as 1.500 registrations are achieved.
For everyone’s safety, bicycles, skates, rollerblades, wheelchairs, baby cars and animals are not allowed.
4. Course
Main Race 10 KM
1st round: Departure at Praça do Rossio (rising direction), Praça dos Restauradores, go back after Praça e return at Praça do Rossio, Rua do Ouro, Rua do Arsenal, Rua Bernardino Costa, go back at Praça Duque da Terceira (Cais do Sodré), Av. Ribeira das Naus, Av. Infante D. Henrique, Campo das Cebolas, Rua da Alfândega, Rua da Prata, Praça do Rossio.
2nd round: Praça do Rossio, Praça dos Restauradores, Av. Liberdade, go back before Praça do Marquês de Pombal, Av. da Liberdade (descending direction), Praça dos Restauradores, Praça do Rossio, Rua do Ouro, Rua do Arsenal, Rua Bernardino Costa, go back at Praça Duque da Terceira (Cais do Sodré), Av. Ribeira das Naus, Av. Infante D. Henrique, Campo das Cebolas, Rua da Alfândega, Rua da Prata, entry towards the finishing line at Praça do Rossio.
São Silvestre kids (all starting and ending at Praça do Rossio):
- 1st level, Bambis: about 300 meters
- 2nd level, Benjamins A: about 500 meters
- 3rd level, Benjamins B: about 700 meters

6. Registration/Fee/Deadlines
a) The registrations will be open between the 1st of October and the 26th of December and can be done by:
- Letter: São Silvestre de Lisboa, Apartado 9, 2776-901 Carcavelos
- Internet: www.saosilvestredelisboa.com
- Personally: Sports store on the 3rd floor of El Corte Inglés in Lisbon
b) Fee:
- 1st October to 12nd December 2009 – 8 € *
- 13rd December to 26th December 2009 – 10 €
- After the 12nd December* the registrations will be fulfilled exclusively by internet or at the Sports Store at El Corte Inglés de Lisboa – Floor 3
* When the registration is through the Post Office, only the stamp date will be considered - São Silvestre Kids: 2,50€
c) The fee can be payed in cash/ATM

The organization can at any time suspend or delay deadlines, increase or diminish the number of registrations, according to the event’s structural or technical capability.
7. Awards
For all participants:
- T-shirt, medal, diploma and several other gifts
- Trophy for the 3 first competitors who finish São Silvestre de Lisboa, 3 male and 3 female.
8. Disqualifications
The São Silvestre medical support, as well as the referee, can and will remove any athlete that:
- Show up in a week physical state.
- Does not have his/her dorsal or its not visible.
- Folds or manipulates dorsals publicity.
- Does not respect the organization’s rules.
- Shows a mistrusting sports behavior.
9. Anti–Doping Control
The anti-doping control will be fulfilled according to IAAF most recent rules.
10. Complaints
All formal complaints must be done accordingly to IAAF and FPA rules, attaching to it 50 Euros. This amount will be deposited until the question is solved, taking the necessary time to analyze the data. This amount will be restored to the complainer if his/her complaint is legitimate.
11. Accepting
All participants, by fulfilling the registration, are accepting the event rules. If you have any doubt or if any situation comes up that is not contemplated in this rules, please inform the organization committee.
12. Supply
There will be supplies at the 5th km and at the finishing line.
13. Handing Dorsal/Chip/T-shirt
DORSALS WILL NOT BE HAND OUT AT SÃO SILVESTRE LISBOA.
Dorsals and chips will be hand out at Client Support at El Corte Inglés Lisboa, floor -2, on the following schedule:
- 23rd December from 10h00 to 23h00
- 24th December from 10h00 to 18h00
- 26th December from das 10h00 to 18h00
- 27th December from 10h00 to 14h00
14. Insurance
All participants must be in good health condition to participate in São Silvestre Lisboa race. After registration, participants must assume they’re feeling both physically and psychologically prepared to the effort coming from the race. The organization insures all participants an personal insurance, according to 1º do art.4º of DL 146/93 of 26th April, with a capital of death or disablement of 28.000€ an treatment expenses until 5.000€.
The organization will not be held responsible for any situations that are not contemplated in this insurance.
